Message to Devean George: Quit Fucking It Up for Everyone

I was planning to write about Jason Kidd being traded to the Dallas Mavericks, which ESPN’s Marc Stein said was 99% completed and a done deal.  Stein did mention, however, that the remaining one percent was enough wiggle room for a douche bag to ruin it for everyone (those were his exact words).

Apparently, that douche bag is Devean George, who is holding up the Kidd trade due to some inane trade clause that stems from a stipulation known as the “Early Bird (named after Larry Bird)” rights.  Yes, the same Devean George who has a career averaged of four points, the same Devean George who’s been complaining about playing time and then went 0-for-11 and scoreless in 33 minutes during his first start of the season this Wednesday, the same Devean George that no one gives a fuck about.

In his defense, George explained the situation, as “it is what it is.”

This is the new cliché among athletes and it’s the most asinine phrase I’ve ever heard.

McNamee had the nerve to use the newly formed colloquialism in front of Congress and was, rightfully so, berated by a Congress member for being a moron when asked, “Well, I guess that depends on whatever ‘it is what it is’ means.”

Congress needs to intervene and ban the use of this phrase.  While we’re here, Congress needs to ban Devean George.
